Happy Holidays!!!

And today, Merry Christmas for those who celebrate it! Having a lovely time today with all our loot. Our respective families are both in snow country this year, but we weren't able to join either family, so we're enjoying hearing about the snow while we sit in the sun. ;)

The birds were just BAD this morning, running around chasing the cats and each other, jumping on our feet and trying to eat off limits goodies. LOL! They are now suffering in 'jail' out on the porch, where there are cranberry/popcorn strings in their aviaries and pine cones stuffed with nuts (glued in with peanut butter). The cockatiels have smaller versions of everything. Life is hard...

We're off to a nummy lupper this afternoon. I just can't see cooking big holiday meals for only two, so we've taken to eating out on Thanksgiving and Christmas. It felt all wrong the first few times we did it, but now I look forward to it, and fill the house with baking smells from cookies and breads instead of turkey.

Here's hoping everyone is enjoying family and happiness this holiday, and good food with fun loot, too. :)

Merry Christmas to you too! Sounds like the birds had a great day. My cat had an amazing time this morning, chasing ribbon and leaping at wrapping paper. She got 5 presents (she's very spoiled) but the experience of all of the crumpled paper was like another present.

We had a blast dumping one of the kitties' stockings out in the middle of the floor. Watching the three of them try to decide which toy was the best, then change their minds' repeatedly was the hi-light of the day! Too funny!

We have breakfast x-mas morning at a local greek diner (friends of fam), and it is probably the highlight of our trip. We see most of the same families there every year....kind of surreal when you think about being peripherally related to other people's family traditions too.
